Ballet Classes

The art of ballet teaches expressivity, focus and self-discipline, awareness of body mechanics, alignment, and musicality. The richness and depth that comes from using a conceptual and brain-compatible approach is what makes our ballet program unique in the region. Our ballet classes nurture and support technical and creative growth in dancers of all ages!

Pre-Ballet

Grade K

A fun and creative introduction to ballet class. Exploring ballet technique through the dance concepts nurtures the whole dancer. Musicality, improvisation, and skill development are all a part of this developmentally appropriate ballet class. Ballet shoes required.

Clothing
Girls: dance clothes such as leotards, tights, dance skirts or shorts worn over leotard and tights, ballet shoes, hair should be pulled back from the face.
Boys: sweat pants, shorts, tights, or leggings, t-shirts, ballet shoes.

Ballet I

Grades 1-2

Classical ballet emphasizes strength, flexibility, alignment, & musicality. Exploring ballet technique through the dance concepts nurtures the whole dancer. Barre work begins in Ballet I. Dancers should enjoy the focus and attention that barre work requires. Whole body/mind movement will be used as recuperation during and after barre. Classes are offered in a relaxed and supportive learning environment. Ballet shoes required.

Clothing
Girls: dance clothes such as leotards, tights, dance skirts or shorts worn over leotard and tights, ballet shoes, hair should be pulled back from the face.
Boys: sweat pants, shorts, tights, or leggings, t-shirts, ballet shoes.

Grades 3-5

Barre and center work becomes more challenging in Ballet II. Dancers should enjoy the focus and attention that barre work requires. Whole body/mind movement will be used as recuperation during and after barre. Classes are offered in a relaxed and supportive learning environment. Ballet shoes required.

Barre and center work becomes more complex in Ballet III. Classes are offered in a relaxed and supportive learning environment. Ballet shoes required.
